The SS Princess Sophia Exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the tragic sinking of the Princess Sophia, in which everyone on board lost their lives. The Princess Sophia traveled from her home port in Victoria, BC up to Skagway, AK, with stops along the way. Communities in BC, Yukon, and Alaska relied quite heavily on this route to travel. When tragedy struck, all three jurisdictions were impacted heavily and in unique ways.

Now, 100 years later, the three jurisdictions are uniting to commemorate this marine disaster that took more than 350 lives and impacted many countless more. Have a look through the following pages to learn about the partners and organizers of this Exhibition, all of whom share this history.
